NPower Osprey’s Cup Final 29th Aril 2007 – The Gnoll

Tondu faced the Aberavon Green Stars in defence of their title as Ospreys Cup Winners. The Green Stars elected to play with the stiff breeze on this bright spring morning.

Both sides probed each others defences in the early stages and the Stars managed to keep the Junior Waterwheelers from mounting any meaningful attacks.

Play ebbed and flowed with both sides conceding a number of penalties but neither able to capitalise. With loose play near the halfway the Stars managed to engineer a gap in the Tondu defence.  A footrace ensued and the Tondu captain Tom Owen was just unable to prevent a score under the posts. The conversion was successful.

Show Jumping Grand Prix 2007

Grass roots equestrianism is set to get a boost this season thanks to Long Reach Events and Land Rover.

Long Reach Events have announced a fantastic new event in their 2007 calendar. Sunday 23rd September 2007 will see the first running of an event the likes of which has never been seen at unaffiliated level. The event is an unaffiliated Show Jumping Grand Prix and thanks to support from Guy Salmon Land Rover the event offers an amazing £1,500 prize fund.

The Grand Prix will be unlike any other event and at just 85cm (2’9”) it will allow the widest number of unaffiliated riders to have a go. The event will be run in true Grand Prix style over three rounds with the top 30 riders going forward to the third round, a speed round at 90cm (3’0”). The fantastic prize fund will be split right down the line with the winner receiving an unprecedented £450.00 whilst tenth place will still win £50.00.

We are hugely grateful to Guy Salmon Land Rover for their support in this incredible event and without industry support it would not be possible to inject passion and of course money into the grass roots of equestrianism.
