Rope started off on the front foot and an early effort by Niall Ford was well saved by the Appleton keeper. Appleton responded with a quick break themselves but Callum Spencer was alert to the danger and came out bravely at feet to smother. Rope took the lead after good work by Tom Weeder, winning the ball in defence before sending a ball to Tom Corless to speed down the wing and deliver a great cross to the back post where it was met superbly by Jordan Freaney to fire in. 1-0. A long clearance out of defence by Jud Thorniley then gave Regan Foy the chance to get his name on the scoresheet as he ran through the defence and placed the ball into the far corner. 2-0. Not happy with one goal, Regan soon made it 2 as again Tom Corless left defenders in his wake and crossed for Regan to apply a smart finish. 3-0 It was same again just minutes later, Tom Corless just too good for Appleton and another cross to Regan- same result- number 4! HT 4-0 The second half saw Appleton chasing and Rope having plenty of the ball but goal chances were rare and as the clock ticked away it seemed that both sides realised that the result was in no doubt and neither were willing to take chances- the second half fizzled out. Not a very inspiring second half but a good first half from Rope and a great performance from Tom Corless and hat trick hero Regan Foy. Appleton worked hard but on the odd occasion they breached the Rope defence the couldn't get the better of Callum in net. FT 4-0
