This was always going to be a very tight game as previous games between these two teams have shown. Both teams showing great determination and fighting spirit on the day.
The 1st half saw two great individual saves by Appleton's goalkeeper from a right low hand shot from Culcheth's striker and from a one on one situation. The half time result remained at 0:0.

The 2nd half showed both teams pressing forward, Appleton dangerous in standard situations and on counter attacks, whereas Culcheth showing strength in midfield and good passing between the 2 stricke partners.

A thunder free kick by Culcheth's player of the match rattled the crossbar, but the game remained equal at 0:0. When it looked like this was going to be the final result Culcheth's striker who always remained dangerous throughout the game broke through Appleton's defence on the right hand and placed an unsavable shot into Appleton's goal. In the final minutes Appleton fought back in the attempt to turn the game, but Culcheth hold on to an after all well deserved win.

Culcheth are now unbeaten since January and are also still in the cup competition. All in all this season proves to be a big success for the newcomer to this league.
