I don't know who makes the decisions about this but can I make a plea for next years under 9's leagues to be seeded according to ability...maybe running three leagues - taking the top three from each <8 league this year, the middle three from each <8 league and bottom three from <8 each league. I have helped run two teams this year - Brinscall Red and Brinscall Blue. The Reds have played some games which were way too easy for them this year and from which they learned little or nothing, and the Blues played games which were far too hard when they got heavily beaten which has at times resulted in demoralisation. I know it is difficult to get the seedings absolutley right because players come and go and teams change. But I think a starting point of grouping the top three, middle three and bottom three teams together should be about right - maybe supplementing this by giving coaches a chance to make a case to go either up or down if they feel that there teams have either strenghtened or weakened significantly over the summer.
